Au Clair de Lune is very easy and quick to learn. Consisting only of 16 bars it can be used as a warm up. It can also be used to help develop techniques without worrying too much about how to play the right notes or think about timing. For example, forte, piano, sul ponticello or pizzicato. Drunken Sailor is straight forward. 1st and 2nd Violin and Viola Parts use F natural. This is good practice in learning second finger position close to first finger. Also just 16 bars so very quick to play and good for practising the techniques mentioned above.

An easy tune sometimes known as the Furry Dance. In Helston, Cornwall groups of dancers dance through the streets once a year dancing to this tune. It is played by different bands using different instrumentation but always the same tune. It is one of the oldest British customs still practised today. The earliest mention seems to be in a letter to the Gentleman's Magazine for 1790 where the writer says "At Helstone, a genteel and populus borough town in Cornwall, it is customary to dedicate the 8th May to revelry".
